  • Annual Monkey Feast draws tourists to Thailand - 08 Dec 2009

About 1,000 monkeys were treated to a feast with special meals parachuted into a shrine compound Sunday in Thailand. The annual Monkey Feast lures tourists from all over the world. Skydivers parachuted to the ground, carrying platefuls of food to serve the furry primates.Tables were set full of food that looked good enough for human consumption: four tons of fruit, vegetables, soft drinks and assorted deserts.

This was novel idea of promoting tourism by an Indian business man. The tourist find it amusing and interesting to see the monkeys all over and stealing food from people. It has served as an attraction and draws hundreds of tourists from across the globe.
